  • Go team! York, PA says:

Just wanted to pass along the message that Aaron shared with both his Credit Analyst team and his Small Business Team in the PPP Process. The small business Team reaches out to smaller business customers (deposit and/or loan) and helps them navigate this process. He added much more color to it when I talked to him this morning indicating how rewarding this has been to him to hear how grateful our clients are and how important this is to their survival. I would suggest Aaron might be a place where Charity might start to build a good story and communication. Aaron S. Waldon’s quote: Good morning everyone, I wanted to take a second and share how appreciative customers are for the efforts we are all taking to help them. I have talked to multiple clients (I know Pat has too) who are very grateful for all the hard work we are putting in. I also wanted to personally say that i’m proud of the work we have accomplished and will continue to accomplish.

I just had to pass this along to the two of you. In case you don’t know Leslie Wizelman, she is an attorney in Wyalusing, very well connected to PS Bank, and known for her tough personality. This really is a true testament to the fantastic job Amy, Leslie and Jenelle do, not only during these challenging times, but every day. Leslie’s quote: Dear Amy, Leslie R and the rest of the C &N team, I wanted to thank all of you for successfully processing my PPP loan. When you hear on the news what people are going through to get these loans approved; it causes only further anxiety, wondering if it will ever happen. Well, thanks to you folks, it did happen! I can’t describe what a relief it is for not just me, but for my employees. We are grateful for everything you have done!

  • Patty Groover, Customer in Coudersport, PA says:

I had a customer call who had received one of our C&N Cares calls. Nikki Watkins made the call. At the end she asked if the customer needed anything. The customer said she had just been to the store and the only thing she couldn’t get was toilet paper. Nikki told her she would keep an eye out for some for her and sure enough did find some. She delivered it to the customer’s house the next day. The customer wanted us to know that the gesture was so kind, and she appreciated it so much. She was so surprised!

  • Eric Schoonover, COO, Business Owner in Canton, PA says:

I just wanted to drop you guys a quick note. I wanted to let you know that your team has been doing spectacular these past couple of weeks during this crisis. I am sure that there is action going on at all of the different levels (branch delivery, customer communication, etc), but my experience and what I am hearing “words on the street” currently is with your handling of the CARES Act PPP Loans.

For me, Ryan was a rockstar. I wanted to be first in line and was working my side to make sure that all information the bank needed was available. Ryan hung with me, communicated well, and we pushed through that initial SBA confusion to get my application in as early as possible and I had my funding within 24 hours. My current lighter shoulders and peace of mind is because Ryan excelled at his job. I have been asking around and so many other businesses are further back in the line awaiting responses or even worse, waiting on their bank to put the application in even today, 7 days later.

On the street, I have heard that Hailey has done equally wonderful things in the Lycoming market. Professionals that she dealt with directly had nothing but praise for her being on top of the program and being educated about the process. In fact, one client of yours for whom you wrote a PPP loan started with a different financial institution and didn’t get any “warm fuzzies” when talking to them. Turning to C&N and Hailey, that client got their loan and has their payout now as well.
In speaking with an accounting professional in Lycoming county, I heard that C&N is the only bank that has their … um… stuff together on this program. They felt that you were heads above the competition in the initial rollout as well as the followup. That professional knows of three loans that have been written, and two of the three (if not three all three, I wasn’t perfectly clear) were written by C&N. She has over 70 other clients waiting in limbo not knowing what to do to survive in our current environment.

I think this is a great credit to your leadership, your team, and your culture. I have been very proud to call myself an Advisory Board member today and brag a bit about how well your team has performed. When Amy Lackey first sold me on moving our business to C&N, she sold on the strength of your team, your market leadership, and your customer focus. Be proud that during this crisis, you have delivered on those promises.

I hope this note finds you well and that you and your families are safe and happy. Have a great weekend.

I want to thank you for your diligent efforts and work after hours to make sure our loan came through. I have 26 very thankful employees who have not had to sign up to wait for their unemployment check, because we were able to continue to pay them through this crisis. We really appreciate you! With the return to me of the executed closing documents, I assume there is nothing left to do and the money will be transferred later today. I hope you and your fellow team members at Citizens and Northern Bank have a wonderful Easter.

I wanted to let you know we appreciate everything Ryan and the other folks at C&N did to get our PPP loan approved through the SBA. In addition to the general knowledge that the program rollout has been confusingly chaotic nationwide, I’m familiar with some local businesses and groups going through the other 2 main Wellsboro banks, and C&N is way ahead of them in navigating this program.

  • John Estep – President, Business Owner in Troy, PA says:

I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and thanks to you and your team of employees for stepping up and responding to the financial needs of local businesses within our communities! The last days I worked with Amy VanBlarcom-Lackey to process and secure a Payroll Protection Program Loan for our company. Amy has been in communication with myself since day one when the business world started to get turned upside down to offer C&N support! Through all of the uncertainty these last weeks it is very reassuring to have this support. Amy told me how you organized and lead the effort to mobilize all tasks and support throughout the organization. The team certainly delivered! Amy credited your leadership in making all of this happen. I believe the C&N employees all pulled together to meet the needs of many small businesses and all C&N employees deserve much credit! Thanks again for the outstanding job and role C&N play’s in our community! ~John Estep – President

  • Steve, Business Owner in Potter County, PA says:

This is addressed to me but it is not about me. I took the call and directed him to the website. This was Janelle getting files set-up in very short order! And then the RM Jim Miller stepped in and made things happen. He immediately reached out to Steve and starting working with him to get the information we needed to quickly get these deals ready for submission to the SBA for approval. While Jim also had something to do with the opening of 16 new deposit accounts, he must have had a bunch of support to accomplish that as well! The ETran team also quickly got these deals submitted to the SBA for approval. There were PPP loans here to 8 related entities with the 8 PPP loans totaling $1,961,000. Steve had applied for these loans at another bank and hadn’t heard anything for a week and could not get to any answers from them on the status. This one is kind of cool because Steve is originally from our legacy market and his company is headquartered in our Southeast region. The company has one of their stores here in Wellsboro. As a side note and not part of the story, Steve recognized my name when we talked on the phone. Back in the mid 1980’s, I was a consumer loan officer in Coudersport and Steve worked for Farm Credit in Coudersport. I made a loan to Steve to buy the engagement ring for his wife. Quote from Steve: Stan, That is TOTALLY AWESOME! A huge note of thanks for the way you guys got on this & pushed it through. This will be huge for us! Thanks again, we won’t forget this one, Steve

I wanted to take a few minutes to e-mail this note of appreciation. It was a pleasure to work with Tom Maclin of your Doylestown branch in the process of completing our SBA loan application. He went above and beyond helping us in gathering all the information needed for this process. He was always available to us either by e-mail or by phone during a time that was very stressful for us. We can’t thank him enough for the attention he gave us and we’ll look forward to working with him again whenever the need arises.I am happy to share how important the SBA loan has been for us. We have been a family business in this community for over 50 years and we have always had employees who have been with us for many years. This loan will go a long way to allow us to retain all our employees by helping us bridge the gap from our store shutdown to our potential re-opening. This whole experience has reminded us how important it is to work with your local community bank.

I applied for the PPP last weekend. It was very easy to do on line with C&N and Chrissi Hume was quick. I couldn’t believe it. I had heard such horror stories about back logs and other banks trying to figure this out. Chrissi emailed me Monday saying I needed to open an account with C&N. I gave my info to Dana ( Gerow) who gave it to Ron(Seymour) and he helped me get my accounts open. Gosh he was a nice voice on the phone, very professional. Also Chrissi was quick to answer my emails.I just can’t say enough good about everyone that I dealt with. Such a nice change in this stressful environment.

  • Jenelle Selleck/ Dr. Resavage, Dentist in Towanda, PA says:

I have my own dentist, Dr. Resavage on my prospect list. They bank with Community Bank, they were familiar with Community when she had a practice in the Scranton area, so when she opened her own office in town, they went there. Her husband Tom, is the office manager, I stop in from time to time between appointments. Our new branch is close to her office, or was, they just moved and are now between the Towanda and Wysox offices. Tom called me last Friday morning, 4/25, to inquire about the PPP loan. I encouraged him to apply online asap, and shared contact information between him and Amy Lackey. On Tuesday his PPP loan was approved, while speaking to Tom about the checking account we would be setting up for the funds, he said he wanted to share something. That Friday morning, he called Community Bank to ask about the PPP loan process, he was told someone would have to call him back. When the call was returned, the person told him the PPP was not re-funded, and that was that. That was when Tom reached out to me, he was very impressed with C&N, Amy Lackey called him that night with questions, she didn’t want to wait until Monday, in case funds ran out. He thanked me again, said C&N has always been very helpful.

A friend of mine posted on Facebook yesterday that her PPP loan got approved. She owns a small boutique shop here in Athens. Quote, “C&N was wonderful to work with.” Chrissi Hume was her lender. The website was very easy to use and the communication with Chrissi went very well. Even though this loan is not large, it will help her pay her utilities and her rent for May. She is very appreciative!

  • I am emailing to let you know how much C&N bank has helped me and specially thank Anita Miller for her outstanding job in following up and helping my business secure PPP Loan. I am a Physician and and I had applied for PPP loan with my regular bank where I banked for last 22 years and where my wife has been working for last 22 years . I had dealt with Anita in Past for some business loans but never though of changing my business relation to your bank. After speaking with Anita I applied for PPP loan with you bank and withdrew the app from the other bank as there was not any follow up and was a total mess. Anita has been following with us regularly on the status of PPP loan. She has been very honest about the expectation that the bank will do everything possible to submit but funding is not in the banks hand. Due to her persistence follow up and due diligence we were approved for the PPP loan. I am so grateful to her and more than that very impressed with her work ethics and follow up. I have decided to my business accounts and operating account to C&N bank and I am working with Anita for a business loan also.
Thank you Anita for all your help all these years. I appreciate all the help and support. My wife Shilpa will contact you and email you about the business accounts for our other LLC.

  • I wish to thank C&N Bank for the extroadinary execution of our PPP loan with loan application to funding in 7 work days. The ongoing working relationship our company has had with C&N Bank over the years of financing our hotel has been incredibly responsive to the changing needs of our business. I am forever thankful that we changed financing from an impersonal CMBS loan to work with a community bank.
